03/31/2009 "RESEARCH PAPER"

I just wrote a thing about my research paper, but it didn't save when I hit "Publish Post" so it got deleted :( Basically, this six page reasearch paper is due tomorrow and I only have three pages, but I believe that there three good pages. I don't know what else I could add to my paper, because I feel as if the paper is already strong. I wasn't in class yesterday because I was in West Virginia, but the class told me that my teacher said to hand in what we have completed, if it's not six pages that's ok. So if I can't find any more details to fill my paper in with I might just hand in the three pages I already have completed.

03/31/2009 "WEST VIRGINIA EXPERIENCE"

So Sunday and Monday I went to West Virginia and West Virginia University, the University was so much more than I imagined in a great way! Once we arrived in Morgantown, West Virginia I noticed that there were flags everywhere with the "WV sign and GO MOUNTAINEERS!" I was so intrigued by the University it was pretty much love at first site. About 3/4 of the students I saw had some sort of WVU gear on.. it should just how much they love there school! The tour group drove by the Football Stadium and I can honestly say I thought I was going to cry, it was the Stadium that drew me to WVU in the first place. A group known as the "MOUNTAINEER MANIACS" are a group of students that buy a membership to get into all home football games and sit in the maniac section and cheer on there Mountaineers, that is a group that I've been wanting to join since the beginning of my Junior Year in high school. I definetely plan on attending WVU in the fall and I'm so happy I got to go there for the weekend with my mom :)

03/24/2009 "WEST VIRGINIA FINANCIAL AID MAIL"

Today when I got home from Track Practice my mom told me that I got mail from West Virginia University! I always look forward to receiving mail from them because my heart is sent on going there. I opened up the letter and found out that I received a lot of money from WVU, my mom calculated it out to be that I would only have to pay about $1400 for my freshmen year! WOW! What a sweeeet deal, right!? I got a job promotion this summer so that can easily get paid and I'm so excited! I'm going to West Virginia on Monday. My mom booked a hotel room today actually for us to check in on Sunday and Monday we're going to a tour that WVU is having. When we're finished with the tour my mom wants to meet with a financial advisor to varify this EXCELLENT deal that I have received! I honestly cried, I couldn't believe this wonderful opportunity.

Also.. when I go to WVU I plan to meet Marilyn Potts, she was the woman who sent me the letter saying that I was on the waiting list than my acceptance letter on February 21, 2009. I emailed her a few times and she responded and she seems like a really great woman! I will keep everyone informed about the experience I have this Monday!

03/24/2009 "BIRTHDAY DAY AT BANCROFT"

Today at Bancroft was a terrific day! When I got there the students were so excited to see me, probably because I didn't go last Tuesday. Well today there were two birthdays in class! One student turned 14 and the other student 13. When I got into the classroom the students were watching 'Spongebob SquarePants' and then I walked them to gym. In gym class we participated in playing catch and a little bit of basketball with beam bags getting thrown in a crate. After gym we went back to the classroom and the students worked on their hygiene. They all brushed their teeth, washed their hands, went to the bathroom, and groomed themselves. After hygiene time it was time for individual work, so I worked with one of the students (the birthday boy) and another teacher. The young gentleman now 13 years old, was working on index cards on how to do laundry. I thought it was so cool considering that I don't even know how to do laundry.. so after he was finished.. he quizzed me and I passed and I thank him! He gave me a sticker with a star on it and wrote.. "Good Job Girl" it made my day :) After individual work we celebrated two of the students birthdays with Vanilla Cake and Chocolate Chunk Brownies. And before I knew it, it was time to get the students ready for their buses to go home.

03/23/2009 "The Start of a Terrific Research Paper"

Today in class, I decided to finally start my Research Paper! I decided to base my Research Paper on Autism. Autism is a growing issue all over the world and it's an issue that I think everyone needs to know about! I accomplished three paragraphs in class today. I just started to write away and before I knew it three paragraphs were formed. I didn't cite the information yet, I just wrote everything that I wanted to put in my paper. I will probably go back Wednesday and cite everything that needs to be cited and then finish off the rest of my paper. My mentor, Mrs. Distasi wants to see a minimum of atleast half of my paper on Thursday when I meet with her during 6B so I'm trying to reach that goal. Tomorrow I'm going to Bancroft so I probably won't work on my paper tomorrow. I'm excited to write this paper because I think Autism is an issue that people should know about!

03/20/2009 "IT'S FRIDAY! UHH GLOBAL WARMING MUCH!?"

So today was the first day of Spring, but it wasn't an ordinary Spring Day outside.. it was SNOWING! My dark brown eyes widened as I walked outside dismorning to go to school. Global warming is such a HUGE issue and honestly it really hasn't hit me until I saw SNOW on the first day of SPRING haha! Tyana is doing her research paper a little bit about global warming and the environment and I'm very intrested to see what she has to say. Earth is crazy and I just so happen to be a part of it!

03/19/2009 "I SAM" - CINDI

In first period today we were all working on different things for different classes and out of no where I just started to SINGGG! I randomly just bust out with singing, it's crazy! I sing at least ten random songs a day! So today in Phys. Ed Class Cindi and Tomasa gave me the name "I SAM!" I'm sure you know what the IPOD is.. well it's a device that stores A LOT of songs and Cindi and Tomasa believe that I have a lot of songs stored in my brain or something haha! And honestly, I believe I do because I sing in the most randomest of places!

03/19/2009 "I MET WITH MY MENTOR TODAY!"

Today during 6b I met with my mentor and we discussed my research paper and went over my blogs. I didn't realize it, but I ONLY HAD TWO BLOGS THIS WEEK! I couldn't believe it. I just feel like I've been slacking to the extreme this month and I'm not too sure why. SENIORITIUS much!? I'm not really sure, however, I plan to start blogging a lot more like I did before. I'm happy tomorrow is Friday because I feel like this week has been so "blah". Aliccia Hans' 18th birthday is tomorrow so I'm gonna go to her house for some cake and all so I'm excited about that! Happy early Birthday girl =]

03/18/2009 "I HAVEN'T BLOGGED IN A WHILE"

I just realized I haven't blogged in a few days. So I'm going to tell you about my day yesterday. Yesterday, after school the Leo Club went to the Leo Club Forum in Bridgeton, New Jersey. It was exciting yet disappointing because I knew it was going to be my last Leo Club Forum in high school, but exciting because I plan to continue volunteering for clubs in College. There were about seven different high schools from all over New Jersey that attended this forum and we discussed ideas that we had and that we were planning on doing. I met a lot of cool people and even saw some people that I met last year :) I love the feeling when you only met someone once before and they are so excited to see you and say... "SAAAAMMMMM!" that's what this one kid Tom did to me after I met him last year at the Forum! Leo Club is a great volunteer organization and I think every high school student should be involved in some community service club, if not in Leo Club!

03/13/2009 "MY FAIR LADY"

Last night Lindenwold High School presented the opening performance of "My Fair Lady." It was incredibly well-performed and you can tell that all of the actors take a lot of pride in their performances. The three hour performance, of over fifty actors and actresses proved all of there hard and dedicated work to this opening performance. Lindenwold High School will also present three more performances tonight, Saturday afternoon, and closing night Saturday night! Jessica Rowand, did an exquisite job performing her character of Eliza Doolittle. Overcoming being sick for the past few weeks, she did what she had to do and did a flawless job. Matt Weil, also did a flawless performance with his character Henry Higgins. He has been a great asset to the Lindenwold High School Theatre Arts Department since Middle School and he will be missed tremendously when moving on in his future. Craig Pate, who performed Pickering, had an awesome performance. Craig was a new addition to the Theatre Arts Program this year, but he could have fooled anyone. Craig is also a senior and will be successful in his future when attending Clemson University. These actors were to name only a few, out of many. Everyone in the play did a great performance and Mrs. Triplo and Mr. Abrams and many others did a great job directing it!

03/11/2009 BANCROFT YESTERDAY!

Yesterday, Tuesday March 11, 2009 I went to Bancroft and it was a good day like usual. However, there was a new student that started last Thursday, so that was a cool thing to experience. I'm so use to having the same students in the classroom, so meeting a new student was definitely an adventure. The student has a bit of a listening problem, but he is going to try and work on it. He constantly kept singing a song by SOLJA BOY AND LIL WAYNE and the words were very disturbing. I HOPE he didn't know what he was singing, because it made me mad that a young kid could know what that meant. We went back to class after gym and worked on the student's hygiene and math skills. Before I knew it 2:30 had arrived, and I walked one of the students to their bus. I walked outside to see if the other student's buses had arrived and the one students didn't. A few moments later his bus pulled up, than he started crying for some reason.. he said he didn't want to go home. The teacher talked to him and after ten minutes of talking and calming him down the bus drove off.

03/06/2009 "ENRIQUE and TOMASA"

Tomasa told us how she went to a Christian Bible School and saw how the teacher taught her students. Instead of just teaching the students and being "blah" like Tomasa had mentioned, she lets the students get involved and calls on them constantly. I can see Tomasa being a very great teacher so I hope she likes the experience that she's had and will come to have! Enrique discussed how his experience has been throughout the weeks he has been there. Enrique is too cool for school, for real, haha. He can make any situation so funny. He followed me one day last week because Little Tuna is near Bancroft, let me just mention.. he drives pretty slow, so be prepared if he's following you haha. Just kidding Enrique!

03/04/2009 SCHOOL #4 with NATALIE

So today Natalie and I went to School #4 to observe the Autistic Program and their Physical Therapy Program. We both had a really great time! The students that I were with were absolutely amazing. I got there around 12:00 which was there nap time, however, only one of the students actually fell asleep. And it just so happens that I rocked him in the swing and then he went to sleep, haha. I went over the alphabet with this little boy and he traced the letter as he spoke the letter. About fifteen minutes later it was lunch time and some of the students ate lunch, some of them didn't however, because they need to eat at certain times. Two girls came in the classroom and read two stories to the children, they really enjoyed it. I had a really great time and I definitely plan on going back!

03/02/2009 HSPA TESTING - SLEEPING IN

So tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday the Junior Class needs to go to class regular time to take the HSPA test. The Freshmen, Sophomores, and Seniors however get to sleep in! I mean wow, this week has been poppin.. snow day today, which I got to sleep in, than I get to sleep in for the next three days too, than BAM its Friday already! This is really too good to be true. My mom doesn't want me going to Bancroft tomorrow because she's unsure of how the roads will be down that way due to the snow. So as soon as I'm finished blogging, I am going to email my sponsor and let her know! Good luck to everyone taking the HSPA test!

03/01/2009 SNOW DAY TOMORROW!

So this is my first post of March! I was unsure on what exactly to blog about until I got a text from Jamie saying that there was NO school tomorrow! I jumped with excitement, eager to get an extra few hours of sleep in. I turned to channel 19 just to see it appear and say that all Lindenwold Public Schools are closed March 2nd due to Inclement Weather, I stared and made it my status on Facebook haha! What will I do on my day off from school? Honestly, I'll probably just lay around all day and watch Lifetime :)! The only down fall to having this snow day off is.. we have to graduate a day later, so I'm kind of dreading that! Well I hope everyone enjoys their day off!
